The artist, Chris Röhm

Christiaan Röhm was raised in the wonder world of Skukuza, the “Capital” of South Africa’s biggest jewel, the Kruger National Park. Born in Mpumalanga in the summer of 1980, his youthful, inquisitive psyche had him living passionately close to nature gradually developing a profound sense of responsibility towards creation. This mischievous soft-hearted teenager evolved into a young man who now resides in the lowveld, White River and runs his own business in Rocky’s Drift making wooden door and window frames as well as customised furniture.

His spare time is spent doing what he loves the most – sculpting. With his sculptures he obediently allows the flaccid medium to speak to his soul, creating its own energy, becoming its own creation.

Through the pain-staking process of the lost wax casting the clay model is forged into a bronze masterpiece and these bronze sculptures are exhibited at a number of galleries in the Mpumalanga area.
